Hailey Ostrom: A Natural Golfer, Achieved Remarkable Success, Why Did She Give Up Golf to Pursue Content Creation
We’ve all seen numerous athletes become social media influencers: Serena Williams, Jimmy O’Brien, and Tony Hawk. These are all incredible athletes who have found as much success in content creation as in sports.
My personal favorite, though, is Hailey Ostrom. Her talent, ethics, discipline, are nothing short of inspirational. As a big fan, I wanted to share why I admire this woman with you.
Hailey Ostrom’s Biography
Hailey Ostrom is many things: An golfer, a content creator, and an influencer. Before I get to her celebrated career, I want to cover her explosive beginning.
Like most talented athletes, she pretty much started playing golf as soon as she could walk. It was her father who first introduced her to the game, and that was the spark that ignited her passion for sports.

Ostrom started exploring soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and skateboarding. She was the Leonardo Da Vinci of sports. But, golf always had a special place in her heart.
Hailey Ostrom’s Career
Now that you know a little bit about Ostrom’s beginning, let’s see how she became the woman she is today.
Golf Career
As you can see, Ostrom didn’t start her career as a golf fanatic. She played whatever she was interested in. It wasn’t until high school that she decided to dump all the other sports and take golf seriously. Her goal was to go to college on a golf scholarship, and you know what? She did!
She joined George Fox University’s women’s golf team. If you don’t know, that university had some of the best female golf players in the country. So, Ostrom knew she had to bring her A-game if she wanted a spot in the lineup.

You know our girl, though. She always puts in the effort. She practiced as if her life depended on it. Finally, in her second college year, she secured a spot in the team’s lineup and remained a starter until she graduated.
Ostrom won numerous awards and championships throughout her college career. These include the Conference Championship, the All-Conference, All-West Region, and All-American Honors.
Going Pro
After finishing college, Hailey knew she wanted to pursue golf professionally but was still not as good as she needed to be. So, she started small.
She moved to Arizona to compete in her first Cactus Tour, an unofficial tour for women golfers. It wasn’t long before she attracted multiple sponsors, including Nike, Rukket Sports, and Massage Envy.
Eventually, Hailey’s achievements in the golf world would go on to prove that she’s a force to be reckoned with. She reached the semi-finals in Golf Channel’s Shotmakers, received conditional status from LPGA Qualifying School, and played in competitions to raise money for charity.

Content Creation
Fun fact: Hailey never intended to be a content creator. She started making content on social media on a whim to attract sponsors. The result? 1000 followers in the first three days.
At that point, she quit competitive golf and focused on social media. Her content is still focused on golf, but it’s made from a brand standpoint.

So, what makes her different from any other content creator? Authenticity! You probably already know that influencers/content creators tend to only share their success and victories.
Not Hailey, though. She’s all about keeping it real, sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly. That’s why it’s not surprising when she writes a post, complaining about her flight seat being right next to the toilet. We’ve all been there, right?
Of course, Ostrom’s life as an influencer wasn’t free of drama. She once had a heated argument with Paige Spiranac over whether Tiger Woodside was a good father, which ended with Ostrom apologizing, but now they are still thriving in golf competition.

Final Thoughts
Hailey Ostrom may have quit competitive golf, but she still holds on to the lessons she learned from that sport. She still aims to work hard and take every available chance to reach her goal.
