So, who is Peter Buchignani? Who is this lucky lad?
Buchignani was born on September 21, 1986, in Illinois, USA. That makes him 38 years old at the time of this writing. His wife, Carley Shimkus, was born in November of the same year.
His parents are Leo and Mary Edna Buchignani. Keeping everything low-key, little is known about Buchignani’s childhood. What we do know is that he has a pretty impressive education.
After high school, Buchignani attended Princeton University and graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in Politics.

But that’s not all. While attending the prestigious college, he played for the varsity football team and was a member of the University Cottage Club.
Buchignani has been a securitized product sales expert at Amherst Pierpont Securities since 2015. Several years before that position, he worked in MBA sales at a bank and as a sales analyst for Barclays Capital.
How Did Peter and Carley Meet?
Shimkus and Buchignani have reportedly known each other for a long time. However, they didn’t officially date until 2013.
When asked about the circumstances surrounding their first meeting, Shimkus, who rarely talks about her husband, finally caved in an interview with Fox Nation host Abby Hornacek.

Call it serendipity, but Shimkus and Buchignani first crossed paths when she was celebrating her birthday.
“It was my 23rd birthday, we were out,” the news anchor confessed. “He was with one of his roommates at the time who was kind of a jerk…and he came and saved the day.”
After the heroic save, Shimkus and Buchignani started dating. The problem is they worked in two different cities, so they had to settle for a long-distance relationship. At least for a while.
When Did Peter and Carley Get Married?
Two years after officially dating, Buchignani finally popped the question, and the two got married in 2015. That’s right, they’ve been married for 10 years now!
Sharing valuable info about their marriage dynamic, Shimkus also revealed rather adorable information about Buchignagni: he’s a massive fan of Game of Thrones.
He loves the HBO series so much that he requested to play its theme on their wedding day.

“This is gonna sound totally nuts,” the reporter said in an episode of Fox Nation’s Ride to Work. “But when we were planning our wedding…he said ‘How do you feel if our wedding party walked out to the Game of Thrones theme song?’”
They ended up following Buchignani’s request to play the Game of Thrones theme and walked out of the venue to the University of Michigan’s fight song, “The Victors.” I’m sure George R.R. Martin would be proud.
All Peter and Carley’s Son, Brock
In January 2023, Shimkus gave birth to their son, Brock Buchignani. The proud mother shared the incredible news on Instagram.
“Welcome to the world sweet Brock,” the reporter captioned the photo of her and her newborn. “You have unlocked a place in our hearts we didn’t even know we had. Your dad and I love you so much!”
“We just got a little bit bigger,” Shimkus’ co-host Prio said after the news. “We’re going to be responsible for raising Carley’s child,” he added.
